ABOUT

Talukans

Snarg.png

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

Talukans are generally tall and slender, with pale red skin, long lavender or violet hair, pointed ears, purple lips, lavender brows, and amethyst-colored eyes. They are repeatedly described as striking in appearance.

TRAITS / TEMPERMENT:

Peaceful, private, resilient, and deeply communal. The fall of Taluka fundamentally reshaped their values. Once surrounded by tremendous mineral wealth, they deliberately embraced simplicity after their exile, keeping few possessions and famously adopting laughter as a form of currency. They are artistic, expressive, patient, and slow to place trust in strangers, yet fiercely loyal to their own. Their glasswork reflects a culture that finds beauty without attachment to wealth.

ABILITIES / ADAPTATION:

No innate supernatural abilities are established. Their greatest strengths are craftsmanship, gemwork, metallurgy, glassmaking, and later the manipulation of dragon-derived materials.

SOCIETY / CULTURE:

Historically secluded underground dwellers, Talukans became renowned jewelers, coiners, glassworkers, and artisans after discovering the remains of a fallen stone dragon. Their culture grew enormously wealthy while remaining secretive and largely isolated

RELATIONS WITH OTHERS:

Talukans are cordial but guarded toward outsiders. Their isolation and unusual appearance have made them objects of fascination throughout Rialta, a distinction they do not always welcome. They permit trade with trusted visitors but historically resisted intrusion from fortune-seekers and wealthy admirers. Their failed appeal to the Eversteels following Taluka's destruction also left complicated feelings toward Rialtan authority, while merchants remain their most frequent connection to the wider kingdom.

HISTORY / LORE:

Taluka was built around the still-active core of a fallen stone dragon. The city prospered until Tilok, Sytheclaw, tore into the mountain and destroyed it. Survivors fled to the Hopeless Sands, where many endured severe hardship.
