ABOUT

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Bogs are compact, glossy spherical creatures, commonly pale green, olive, or similarly marsh-toned. Their most striking feature is an enormous mouth encircling much of the body, lined with rows of jagged, saw-like teeth. When swimming aggressively, the spinning teeth can blur into what looks like a bright cutting band around the creature.
ABILITIES / ADAPTATIONS:
Bogs propel themselves through water by rapidly rolling or spinning, turning their tooth-filled mouths into an effective rotating weapon. Large specimens can bite with enough force to damage protective equipment, while even tiny bogs will clamp onto objects far larger than themselves.

ORIGIN / HABITAT:
TRAITS / BEHAVIOR:
Bogs are notoriously territorial, fearless, and aggressive. They react violently to movement or glowing patterns near their territory and will charge objects they perceive as intrusions. Rialtans even practice a recreational activity called boggin’, in which the animals are deliberately lured into striking.
HISTORY / LORE:
Bogs favor cool mucklands and become sluggish or retreat when the water grows unusually warm. They prey upon hoppers and have a reputation for attacking almost anything that disturbs their territory. Despite the local sport built around catching them, they are apparently poor eating; Edwin simply returns his catches to the pond.
